My buddy

When I go to Erin's I usually (if I remember) take a couple of dog bones for Sanjo.  He is such a loving dog - especially if you have a treat in your pocket.   At the party he just would come up to me and force his head under my arm and expect a big love.    We seem to be buddies.

Carli's 5th Birthday party

Sitting in her pile of pink balloons

Us girls putting on Carli's tiara's

She really, really wanted pink cowgirl boots.

It certainly was a "pink" birthday - just what she asked for

Saturday fun at Greenbluff -

Saturday at Greenbluff Apple Festival - Oct. 12, 2013

A pretty pumpkin princess.   All the little girls loved her

Just a camel up by Harvest House for kids to look at. and pony rides next to the camel

This was at Hansen's Orchard.  We thought they would have some good cider and it was gone. So we went back to Harvest House to get the cider and a bunch of donuts.

This was by a decorated truck at Hansen's Orchard.  There were so many people all through Greenbluff but it was still a lot of fun - and jacket weather.

One last road trip - Sandy Oregon and Highway 101 - Sept. 2013

Here we are almost to Pasco on our way to Sandy for Evalee's baby blessing and then a road trip down the coast on Highway 101.  We had left our trailer in storage at the campground so all of our clothes and some necessities are packed in the back of the pickup.  Plus, Dad fabricated a little stand on the back for my cart to fit on.  This is a store that is amost to Pasco and it has tons on great foods and free samples inside.  We are finally packed and on our way for a couple of weeks. This will probably be the last road trip we take with the trailer so Dad  really wanted to go to Creascent City and visit the area where he served on his mission.
This is a close-up of the cart stand.    Off We Go!!   I put a lot of pictures on the blog - just wanting to share the silly and fun times we had on this trip.   I hope it isn't too boring.

Blessing day - Sept. 8, 2013 - Sandy, Oregon

This is after church on Evalee's blessing day.  We did all of the family pictures right after church and then went to Mindy's for a brunch.  It was a sunny and warm day and the Jensens , Louis and Julie came and we were there too.   We had a wonderful day with the family.  Blessing days are such special days for families to be together.  Mindy probably has a picture of the whole family together, which I didn't get a copy of.

Evalee's Baby Blessing Day

She's a little doll - precious and perfect in every way.

We called Louis and Julie about the blessing and they came to church with us and stayed for the whole day. It was so nice of them to come and share the day with us.  Such good friends.

Saying goodbyes, holding and loving our family in Sandy

One last time to hold this precious newborn baby.  We stopped by Mindy's to say our goodbyes and especially to hold the baby again - feeling time slip away so fast and she will be growing before we see her again.

I think this picture of Dad says a lot - he loves his grandchildren so very much.  We said our goodbyes and shed a few tears with Mindy and then we were on our way to the coast for about a week.  How blessed we are to be able to make this one last long trip with our homey little trailer.

First night in Newport Oregon

Beverly Beach Campground - first night in Newport.  Really nice campground and there just happened to be one spot left for the night so we took it.   lucky

We did go for dinner in Old town Newport and that's what I had.  I still like Ivar's though

A Bit of the Aquarium in Newport - 2013

These really are real jellyfish at the Aquarium.  Aren't they pretty?

These are starfish in a huge tank that you could touch and feel.  They look like rubber don't they?

What a Beautiful day - but windy

Don't laugh too hard - this is just how is was that day

For some reason Dad really likes this picture.  How bad can it really get?

Beverly Beach, Newport, Oregon - 2013

The first morning in Newport, Dad got up early and walked a few miles down the sandy beach.  After breakfast we both went down and it was jacket weather - "Why did I bother to do my hair today?" You know it doesn't really matter because when you are on the beach it is just serene and beautiful.  He had gone to Walmart and bought a nice little tripod for our pictures and it sure came in handy.  We have learned how to set the camera and one of us  will run fast to get in the picture.  Why didn't we do these fun things when we were a little younger and could run a little faster.  lol

Oregon Beaches and Campgrounds are the Best

Just one of the beaches.  There were so many I can't remember their names.

This is the South Beach Campground by Newport.  We stayed here the 2nd night.  They are
the best campgrounds ever

Course I don't have to tell you - he's looking at the waves I guess.

Riding the Oregon Dunes

I had my doubts and fears but I knew this would be a one and only time to experience this and it was a thrill.

Dad was really having fun and I just kept saying "slow down"!! If you ever get a chance, do it!

This is a RZR rental - $100 for one hour of riding.  I guess it was worth it??????

Helmet time- Do you see FEAR in those eyes?

He's really ready to go over the next hill

Sea Lion Caves

The Sea Lion Caves.  You go inside the building and they have an elevator that takes you down to the ocean level where the caves and sea lions live. This day they were all out in the ocean feeding .  Darn.

This is Bandon, Oregon - the old part of town.

Some men were crabbing on the pier so I took a picture of them.  They were too little to keep they said. In a little cage in the middle they put pieces of chicken which the crabs really like.

This young seagull was tame.  I walked right up to him and took his picture.  Young ones are dark like this and they are very noisy too.

Just a cute little fishing boat

Finally we are in California. Unreal

This is Highway 101 - a beautiful, scenic drive

A real working lighthouse. We climbed to the top and the guide told us how the light works. It was really windy but well worth the time spent going inside.   Cape Blanco in Oregon

This was a picture I just had to take to prove we really were there.   Really!

Reminiscing Mission Days

Dad drove right to the apartment where he lived while serving his mission here 52 years ago. A guy came out and wondered what we were doing and Dad told him he lived here 52 years ago and the guy said "wow, is this place THAT old?" He really had such a good time visiting here.

While serving in Crescent City he helped do some building on the new chapel.  It has been added onto since then but he sure enjoyed seeing it.  We attended church here and he talked with his Branch President's wife and they had a good visit.

A little overcast Crescent City

This is the seaside at Crescent  City.  A little more rocky here

We were at a RV Park right by the ocean.  It was cloudy there most of the time. But we still had fun

These were just a short way from our Rv park and they were barking way into the night. I can't imagine what they were talking about all night long.   We could walk close to them and they just kept sleeping.

More Redwoods

Having lunch by a river in the Redwoods.

Driving through the Redwoods.  We look like a little Hot Wheels

This is a burned tree and Dad is clear down at the end.
