This is a RZR rental - $100 for one hour of riding.  I guess it was worth it??????

Helmet time- Do you see FEAR in those eyes?

He's really ready to go over the next hill

Sea Lion Caves

The Sea Lion Caves.  You go inside the building and they have an elevator that takes you down to the ocean level where the caves and sea lions live. This day they were all out in the ocean feeding .  Darn.

This is Bandon, Oregon - the old part of town.

Some men were crabbing on the pier so I took a picture of them.  They were too little to keep they said. In a little cage in the middle they put pieces of chicken which the crabs really like.

This young seagull was tame.  I walked right up to him and took his picture.  Young ones are dark like this and they are very noisy too.

Just a cute little fishing boat

Finally we are in California. Unreal

This is Highway 101 - a beautiful, scenic drive

A real working lighthouse. We climbed to the top and the guide told us how the light works. It was really windy but well worth the time spent going inside.   Cape Blanco in Oregon

This was a picture I just had to take to prove we really were there.   Really!

Reminiscing Mission Days

Dad drove right to the apartment where he lived while serving his mission here 52 years ago. A guy came out and wondered what we were doing and Dad told him he lived here 52 years ago and the guy said "wow, is this place THAT old?" He really had such a good time visiting here.

While serving in Crescent City he helped do some building on the new chapel.  It has been added onto since then but he sure enjoyed seeing it.  We attended church here and he talked with his Branch President's wife and they had a good visit.

A little overcast Crescent City

This is the seaside at Crescent  City.  A little more rocky here

We were at a RV Park right by the ocean.  It was cloudy there most of the time. But we still had fun

These were just a short way from our Rv park and they were barking way into the night. I can't imagine what they were talking about all night long.   We could walk close to them and they just kept sleeping.

More Redwoods

Having lunch by a river in the Redwoods.

Driving through the Redwoods.  We look like a little Hot Wheels

This is a burned tree and Dad is clear down at the end.

Crater Lake

Crater Lake pictures. It was a beautiful sunny day.  We were lucky because two days after that they had snow there.

We are on our way home.  We spent a day here and then drove to Madras for the night and then drove home the next day. Totally filled with wonderful moments together but a little eager to get home too.  We have seen some great parts of our country and I don't see any reason for taking a vacation overseas when we have so much to see and do right here in our back yard.   It was a fun trip without any accidents or mishaps - counting our blessings for that.   Dad is a good driver.

These are way past overdue.   This just shows how much fun our family can have when we are all
together.
The entrance to the campground and taken the morning we left for home.
This is the beautiful drive up to Mt. Hood where our campground was.  You can barely see Mt. Hood.

The morning we left we had to get just one more picture of the three of us together.

Three Generations
Tiny Evalee - August 2013

August 2013 Sandy Oregon park by Mindy's house
Davis got Papa good here.   I think he just lost his balance so he just kept falling until he hit the ground.  I think they were both laughing pretty good.

Papa really does like to hold these sweet babies. I didnt hear him sing any songs though.  You can see how tiny Evalee is compared to Papa's arm.

August 2013 Gresham Oregon
This is at a Farmer's Market in Gresham.
