General Conference Treats

I've been so hungry for these and today was the perfect time to mix and eat.

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE

It won't be long until you can't see the temple from the highway.  A large apartment complex is being
built in the field just north of the temple and that will totally block the view.   These are large and tall
buildings and every trip out there they look even bigger than ever.   Too bad.   Ugh

Happy With Me

I wish I had a gift for quilting like Andy, I wish I could hike and walk like Mindy, I wish I could cook like Erin and I wish I
had endless energy like Kristi and do dutch oven cooking like
Cory  - but I can't.  But,  you know, I am happy
with who I am - a Nana to 14 precious grandchildren whom I
love very much.   Each one is special to me in their own way.
I feel very blessed with who I am and what I can do - just
love you all very much.

I CAN SEE YOU

We are one connected family but yet so distant.
I have such a strong desire to share in your happy/or sad times.  This is my Logitech.  I love it and love skype.  It lets me see you and hear you and all the little kids.  Let's keep connected and please join us on Skype.  I think the first thing I always say when we connect is  "I can see you"!!!!!

Avery's Baptism - Sunday Sept. 19, 2010

Avery's Baptism

The family just before the baptism started.  It was nice to have a personal baptism I think because you can have your own program and family involved and invite those people who a close to your family.   It was really nice.  I set up a table with refreshments in the back of the RS room which the kids could hardly wait to get to.   Matt gave the opening prayer and Scott gave the closing prayer.  Donna directed the music and I played two of the songs and  Erin's friend (Maren) played the rest.

Grandpa and the children

Grandpa's talk on the Holy Ghost. He presented this white gift bag with a few gifts in, one of which was a story book on the HG which he read parts of for the children.  Uncle Cory gave a talk on Baptism (sorry I didnt think to take a pict. then) but he had a picture of a little boy on the board and talked about the armour and put each piece on the little boy picture as he told what each piece represented and then gave Avery a book mark with the same thing printed on it.     Both were very good talks.

The New horse

We took a trip to Walla Walla to visit "Phil" a veterinarian and this is the horse Dad bought.
He just had to ride him in the field as soon as
we got him home.   What do you think???
It's a Yamaha TW200 - only slightly used
and I'm sure will get used more now.

(He loves it)

We had a great weekend too.

Close up of the light

We are still deciding on which kind of bulb to use
which is why they are different.  The cabinet
opens up with shelves and inside is all mirror too.

The Floor

Not sure why you want to see the floor - it's just ceramic tile.
It has heated cable underneath so in the winter we can turn on
the heat which has a thermostat on the wall.  I love the
fact that everything is new though.

One More Picture

Dad installed the lights tonite and I put up the shower curtain.
I found a great picture at Bed /Bath to go in there but I am
debating which wall to hang it.

This is it so far

The bathroom so far.  Still need to do the lights, switch plates, towel racks and new shower curtain.  Anyway, it is in working order and we love it.

Leavenworth

Found this on Dad's camera.  I think this
was in the spring of this year on our
way home from Seattle.  We took a
carriage ride around the town.

One Step at a Time

The new bathtub.  I can't wait until next week
when we get the walls up and tile and flooring
and vanity and mirror and lighting and potty and
mmmm I guess that's all.

New Bathtub

Oh My Gosh !!  I actually got to take a bath tonite.     I feel so heavenly good and clean.   You can't begin to imagine what this week has been like.   And then, to top it off, there was a leak in the pipe after they got
the tub installed.   We had to turn off the house water yesterday and last night.   Ugh.   No potty and no water.  How can life be so hard.
But, today we got it fixed and turned the water on.    It works.    I am clean.   I feel blessed.   Dad is
tired.   And, we are really surviving the hard times around here.
Thank good ness for the trailer.

Good night.

Look What we Did

This is where the bathroom use to be.  Jeff and
Charlie gutted the bathroom down to the studs.
We discovered the wall behind the tub was rotted out and needed to be replaced - thus you see no wall remaining.  We are in a mess but it will be nice to have a new bathroom in the end.

The good news is I got a new cooking stove today for my  upcoming  birthday.  It's a flat top Kenmore and I think I am going to love baking again.
Happy BD to ME!!  Thanks Dad, I love you.
I will post the finished bathroom next week.

The Garden

Mindy asked for a garden picture.  Here it is.
