Dad decided to install some wainscotting in the livingroom and hallway. It just needs to be painted now.

The Big Track
Cory and Beka have been involved in scouting for 10 years - holding several positions. This is the Derby track that Cory made and the ward has used every year. It comes apart into pieces and fits together nicely for storage. It has been a great investment for the ward.
Last night was their last Derby race - kind of bittersweet memories there. We attended and enjoyed the fun race. Grant didn't place but sure had a fun time racing. They have really been a great example of scouting in their ward. Each boy got to race his car about 32 times so just running back and forth for each race made them plenty tired and ready for sleep.

New Cabinets
We are redoing the cabinets at Bridgeport. The kitchen will look so new and nice when
it is done. Jeff is doing the work for us while his work is a little slow right now. When it is
completed I will post another picture.

DAD'S NEW TRUCK
Now you ask - how did you get that truck chassis on that trailer?
Dad is remaking an older truck and needed a front end part from this chassis. Found an
ad on Craigslist and we went to pick it up last night up in the CDa mountain area. It was
a beautiful drive around the lake and then turning left up on top of a mountain called the
Mullan Trail. ( Many large homes up there) He has an electric type wench that does the
trick and pulls it right up onto the trailer. Pretty smooth job. My job was to push the button
to make the wench work. (I felt very useful). Well, we hauled it home just fine and
stopped at IHOP for a "breakfast" dinner. Today it goes down to the shop for further
over-haulin'. This man always has a job or two in the back to keep him busy.

Liberty
"We must learn to understand the cost that accompanies the blessings we enjoy in life. Otherwise we cannot be fully appreciative of these blessings, or fully responsible in how we use them."

One of my Favorites
http://www.windatmy-back.com/
This is such a great movie. It comes in different "seasons" and has been on BYU tv
The same writer as Anne of Green Gables which makes it a wonderful story.

Anniversary trip to Seattle/Leavenworth
Well, we are home and here are a few pictures. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Bellevue which was a super nice motel. It will be a favorite to return to next time I think.
A lot of nice ammenities. Saturday morning we drove to the Piers and took a ferry to
Bainbridge Island. There we drove a loop around the island and stopped at Poulsbo and
had lunch at Azteca. They have a section of town that is down by the water with tons of
cute little quaint shops, a nice park to relax in and marina with tons of sailboats. The
weather was like summer. We felt very fortunate to have blue sky and sunshine in Seattle.
We drove that evening to mukilteo and happened to hit the traffic heading for the ferry.ugh!
Ivars is right by the dock. Mindy and Andy will remember eating at Ivars there on our
trip to a band competition. Stayed the night in Everett which is only about 10 minutes away.
We attended Church in Everett this morning and then headed for Leavenworth. We
spent the afternoon there just walking around, eating lunch and taking a carriage ride.
Arrived home about 7 pm and that was our weekend. It was great.

Ivar's at Mukilteo
Wooden carp fish. In 2003 the waves were so big it destroyed the ocean side of the restaurant and this fish got lost. Now he is inside Ivars and the place has been
restored and inlarged. We had a wonderful meal and fun time there.

Leavenworth Carriage Ride
On our way home we drove to Leavenworth to spend the afternoon. We had lunch at a little cafe, a gingerbread cookie at the Gingerbread Bakery and then took a carriage ride. It was
very nice weather and parking was hard to come by even in March.
