OUR MARCH VACATION

March has always been a favorite time of ours - l. because it's our anniversary and 2. it's usually (usually) pretty good weather for traveling. This year we took 11 days and went to see Kris and Andy. While there Dad did some electical work for their homes and I played. We then went to Cove Fort, Manti, Bryce Canyon, Vernal and onto Wyoming. Dad has more pictures of Bryce. It was a good trip with not many problems. We are already planning another adventure to South Pass and South Pass City. It was a blizzard this time so we couldnt get off the road to venture over to South Pass City. We will do that trip and take in Martin's Cove next time. We are grateful for children that will let us come and stay in their homes and feed us. Grateful for vehicles that transport us well and a free country where we can travel as we wish. We have many blessings and most of them are our family that we love so much.

Dad - the driver

This is the guy that did most of the driving.

This is Wyoming

Here we are in Wyoming - can't you tell? The snowy picture shows the snow all around us and before us a little bit. Going over South Pass was just beautiful but treacherous. It was a blizzard/whiteout with cars on the side of the road. We made it to Riverton and were glad to be there. We stayed with Elinore and Dan and visited in the evening and morning. From there we stopped at the hot springs in Thermopolis and swam. Onto Burlington to stay with Glenn and Joyce and on Sunday went to Church. It's always good for Dad to go back home and refresh to memories there. We had good roads from here on out. We stayed Sunday night at Livingston and then home on Monday. Oh, home sweet home

Dirty truck at motel in Vernal

This truck really needs a wash - but we still had more roads to go. There was one room left in Vernal and we took it. It was late at night when we drove in so it was lucky to find anything. The men working in the oil fields come there and stay Monday through Thursday and live in the motels there. The one room left happened to be the "Honeymoon Suite" and it was very nice. The next morning we drove over to see the Temple and then to the Dinasaur Museum. It's a great place to bring kids.

The surprise dinner

Mindy, Kristi and I surprised Andy with a dinner night out. Kristi brought the most famous "plastic" and we went to Macaroni Grill early to set up the table. She wrapped the chair Andy would be sitting in with the "plastic" and we also had flowers and presents on the table. We then went back to the front of the restaurant to wait for Mindy to bring Andy. It was such a fun evening and the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Logan and the good times

We had such a fun time with Logan and he made us laugh so much. He was such a good sport with the rings on the ears.

Weston Cemetery

Dad and I drove to Weston on our way to Utah to decorate the graves. When we got there we discovered the cemetery was covered with snow. Luckily, Dad had brought a small shovel which came in handy. He had an idea about where the headstone was located and we just had to dig through the crusty hard snow. It worked but it was had digging. I am glad we went there and I hope the flowers last until Memorial Day.
